When civil servants exhaust their sick leave on full pay, they receive only 50% of their salary. Loss of salary insurance then kicks in to top up their salary.
Loss of salary insurance allows you to:
- maintain your salary in the event of long-term illness or accident;
- supplement the half-salary paid by the organization for a period of 24 months per 4 consecutive years;
- protect civil servants and their families from the financial consequences of prolonged sick leave.
The insurance premium is 0.95% of the insured annual salary for civil servants with 3 years' continuous service or more, and 1.95% for those with less than 3 years' service.
